Allow me to introduce you to our Goldie....she is our 1969 Avion RV Trailer (very similar to a vintage airstream). This is what she looks like right now as restoration is underway. When we purchased her, she had an inch of white shag carpet on her walls and everything was gold! Restorations are definitely taking a little longer than expected as pulling up parts of her only reveals more work to be done. She is a challenge but when she is complete, she will be our pride and joy!
The lady in this photo is T-roy's Aunt Pat. Aunt Pat and Ms. Dell (T-roy's mom) are both hard working Cajun ladies and know how to handle power tools better than most men I've encountered. They are helping us in Goldie's restoration as these kind of projects are their pride and joy...thank goodness for these ladies!!!
Even Goldie's outer shell is bright gold....we plan on buffing her up to shine and adding a pin stripe to her. Any suggestions on pin stripe color? T-roy is thinking black, but I'm thinking a bright red... a little lipstick color could do her some good!!
We plan on painting some type of design on Goldie's ass...kind of like a tramp stamp I guess. We haven't decided on the design so if you have any suggestions, we'd love to hear them!
As for our departure date, we're still undecided. We were thinking mid-June, but if T-roy keeps throwing out his back, that won't happen...poor T-roy!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!!
